Three!

June 22nd, 2009

A Kim’s Life is three!

blogiversary

(Virtual) cake is on me, folks.

FYI, for the curious: The cake is actually sweeter than it looks.   Piercingly so.

Discovered!

January 10th, 2008

This is a momentous day, people.   A Kim’s Life has been discovered.

Today marks the first day someone I don’t know in real life left a comment on the site.   Welcome, Lisa!   (Just in case she comes back.)

I’m pretty sure Ravelry (where I’m part of a greyhound knitter’s group) is responsible for this.   So this is how social networking works. . .

Needlenose News 4.2 is up

August 15th, 2007

(It’s on the Needlenose News page, in case you weren’t sure.   Alternately, click here.)

This means that, depending on your subscription version (paper or PDF), your very own personal copy is winging its way to you via USPS or your e-mail server. (Okay, if you have a PDF subscription, your copy is probably in your inbox right now. But that’s even better, right?)

Enjoy.

Happy birthday to me!

June 22nd, 2007

No, not me, Kim. Me, the website.

A Kim’s Life is one!

Have some (virtual) cake.

happy birthday!

I made a “knitting” category

May 16th, 2007

I thought it was time. And after I made the category, I went back and recategorized all the knitting posts. And now I’m doing laundry. (My life is action-packed.)

New site design

April 22nd, 2007

For Matt’s birthday, he redesigned my site. Using pictures taken specifically for this purpose over vacation and starting with a template, Matt spent most of Apollo 13 changing colors and formatting and the like. I’d show you what the template looked like to start with, but it’s late, I’m tired, and I don’t feel like it. (Lazy.)

While Matt toiled, I knit. Now I have one fingerless glove. Tomorrow, I’ll tackle its mate. Next up: socks for Mom, aka the queue jumper. (Yes, I finished the first pair. No pictures. Lazy.)

Addendum 4/24: Matt’s birthday socks

Needlenose News 4.1 is up!

April 7th, 2007

For the tech-savvy amongst us, you have first crack at the new issue (okay, so some articles date back to January and if you read this blog regularly, you already know most of the content, but the newsletter is really for my “I-have-internet-access-at-work-so-why-would-I-need-
it-at-home?” family).

Anyway, it’s here if you’re interested. I also (finally) made the archive list reverse-chronological.

A new title and tag line!

March 10th, 2007

So, way back at the dawn of this site, I asked people to take up the challenge of naming it. Slackers that you all are, no one responded. (I suppose it really is my responsibility.) And thus, the rather boring, just-put-them-up-so-I-can-start-posting site name (“Kim’s Site”) and tagline (“Greyhound news and other must-know info”) reigned.

Those times have ended. Inspired by StuffOnMyCat.com:

Stuff on my cat

and Knit Simple magazine:

knit simple

I have re-named and re-tagged my site, for my enjoyment. (And yours, if you’re so inclined.)

In which someone random draws erroneous conclusions

February 22nd, 2007

When I logged in to my website today, I see a new incoming link. “What’s this?” I ask myself, clicking on the link. “This” turns out to be a website compiling lists of URLs on what I can only conclude are random topics. One of said random topics is “Fresno Wedding Photographers.” Apparently, Random Webmaster (or someone) noticed in my blog some reference to “wedding,” “Fresno,” and my photographer’s name, and then added one and one and one to make eighty bazillion. See the screen grab below. (Click on the image to enlarge it. You’ll be able to read the text.)

website link

(There’s no link to the actual site because I’m requesting that the link be removed, seeing as how it’s erroneous and all.)

Matt’s working on making my site invisible to search engines as soon as I finish typing this.

Kevin’s “e-mail address”

January 23rd, 2007

Why the quotes? You’ll see.

If you’ve posted a comment on this site, you’ll know that there’s a field for your e-mail address. The form says it’s required. I don’t know why, but I don’t have the skill (or desire, really) to fix it. The site doesn’t post or verify your e-mail address, so you can just make one up. Kevin’s was:

privacyinvasion@biteme.com

If you can outdo Kevin, comment away! I’ll post the most amusing as they come in.
