Happy Pi Day!

Greyhound related , Kim or Matt related March 14th, 2013

The Mathletes and I made mini-pies on Tuesday. They came out pretty well, for an endeavor staffed by middle school students with minimal baking experience.

(I hear they taste good, too.)

Matt’s still sick, but he got to sleep for most of today, and he felt well enough this afternoon to take the dogs to the dog park with me.  I finally got some pictures, my favorite of which is this:

Look at my matched pair of dogs! (Sigh.)

I think your students are very fortunate to have a teacher who makes pies/pis with them. What a cute idea to get the kids excited about math!

As for the dogs, this is exactly what I usually see. You round them up, put on the martingales and leashes, get them in the car, drive to the dog park, unload them, get them inside the double-gated park entry, take the leashes off, and tell them to go run, run like the wind!

And this is what you get. Been there.
